April 19th, 2000 - In our previous update we revealed the remaining five characters with rough translations of their names, and today we are able to reveal the official names. The three of Eiko Carol, Quina Quen and Salamander Coral are all officially correct, while Garnet Till Alexandros now becomes Garnet Tale Alexandros the 17th and the female dragoon is Freija Cresent instead of Freya Crescent.

The majority of the screenshots below are from inside the floating theatre 'Prima Vista'. You'll see Zidane and the rest visit its Grand Stage, passing by its Orchestra, Waiting Room and Engine Room. At the beginning of the game, the floating Prima Vista theatre is being controlled by a group of bandits.

Low Quality Magazine Scans This looks like some sort of play being acted out onboard the Prima Vista flying theatre. Zidane stands close to a small table behind the scenes in the Prima Vista. Final Fantasy IX's resident chef, Quina Quen, looking all clad in his cooking apron.... maybe he likes the look of those mushrooms? :) Zidane stops by the Prima Vista's orchestra to get a trumpet blown in his ear. Typical. Zidane, Garnet Tale Alexandros the 17th (let's just say Garnet from now on), VIVI and Steiner talk it out. VIVI makes his way up a cobble street and is stopped by some small orange creature. In what looks to be like a royal palace, surely this is Garnet's bedroom..? Zidane and VIVI stops outside what looks to be the entrance to a mine... Not sure whether to go on or not, VIVI, Eiko (purple hair), Garnet, Salamander Coral (?) and Zidane talk it out. In the short FMV shown at the Spring TGS, Zidane can be seen jumping from this large steam-type-engine (which most likely powers the Prima Vista). . Freya stands at the top of a small clock... perhaps on the outskirts of the huge kingdom seen in earlier screenshots? .
